Link Building

Understand which pages your link-building work supports, how links will be obtained and what you will receive. The method and reporting should be clear before work begins.

01 / Who it’s for

Start with content worth linking to

Link building is available as a standalone service or part of our annual SEO plan. Before agreeing on volume, review the proposed methods, source criteria and delivery records.

Start with the page people will visit. It should explain your offer, include the facts readers need and help them take a useful next step. More links cannot fix missing information or create demand for a product.

An initial discussion should identify the target pages, intended audience, current link information and what the business expects the work to accomplish. If the immediate problem is an incomplete service page, content and factual review may come first. Link building should not be sold as a replacement for that work.

02 / Methods and evidence

Know how your links will be obtained

The service name “authority link building” does not specify a method. A useful proposal must name the source categories, how a link is obtained, any payment or other relationship, the criteria for accepting a source and the practices that are excluded.

Method detail to establishWhy the buyer needs it
Source category and intended audienceA relevant editorial reference, a directory listing and a sponsored placement are different things.
Acquisition relationshipPayment, sponsorship, reciprocal arrangements and other conditions affect interpretation and risk.
Selection criteriaA single third-party authority score does not explain relevance or placement quality.
Excluded practicesA target quantity should not be a reason to accept an unsuitable or undisclosed method.
Inspectable exampleA source page and a clear record are more informative than a screenshot of a total.

The proposal must explain the methods before you approve the work. Outreach, paid placements and other approaches are not assumed to be included by default. A headline quantity alone does not tell you how links will be obtained.

Understand paid placements and link attributes

Google’s link-spam policy addresses links created primarily to manipulate search rankings. A service fee or a label such as “authority” does not establish that every proposed placement is appropriate.

Google also provides guidance on link attributes, including marking advertising or paid placements as sponsored; nofollow remains an accepted way to flag paid links. Attribute handling does not make every acquisition tactic safe, nor does it guarantee a ranking benefit.

Ask for a record of the relationship, cost and relevant link attributes. Separate the fee for labor from any publishing or sponsorship payment. Review actual practices rather than accepting an unqualified “white hat” promise.

Do not confuse a record, a link and a domain

Illustrative record—not client deliveryHow to interpret it
One source page links twice to the target siteTwo link instances do not establish two independent domains.
Five pages on one domain contain linksThe linking-page count and the referring-domain count differ.
A source is identified but the link is not liveIt is not an accepted live placement merely because it appears in a work list.
An older link is newly discovered by a toolNew discovery is not necessarily new acquisition.

The annual plan includes a limit of up to 3,000 links per year. It does not promise 3,000 referring domains. The actual counting unit, duplicate handling, accepted categories and delivery states must be defined before a quantity can function as an acceptance standard. Read backlinks vs referring domains for a fuller comparison.

Ask what happens when a placement changes

A quote may involve research or acquisition labor, content production, publishing or sponsorship costs, tools and later checking. These should not disappear inside one headline link price. Establish which costs are included and which require approval.

Also ask what happens if a proposed link does not go live, an accepted link is removed, a page changes or the relationship is later judged unsuitable. Checking, removal requests and replacement terms need an actual policy. No permanent-placement, free-replacement or guaranteed ranking promise is made here.

The annual package price is not a standalone per-link quote. Compare actual methods, accepted units, costs and evidence using the link-building evaluation guide.

06 / Useful next decisions

Explore the guides for your next decision

Start with the question you need to answer. These guides explain decisions and review tools; they do not add specialist products, platform support or contractual entitlements to the service scope.

Review a delivery record you can inspect

A useful record identifies the source page, target page, relevant relationship and attribute, date, current state, counting unit and any associated costs. A demonstration can show those fields; an authorized real record is needed to prove actual delivery.

For example, “candidate source reviewed” and “live link accepted” should remain separate states. A total that combines both prevents a buyer from knowing what has been completed. The report guide explains how to keep the states reviewable.

The published Google Search click summaries do not identify a link-building method or establish its contribution. Share your website, intended destination pages and requirements through the contact page; the proposed method and acceptance rules need to be clear before you decide.
